Wedding Planning Tips?
I recently got engaged, and I have a little over a year to get everything in order. I want to get married in April 2010. Does anyone have any tips on how to make this as easy as possible? Or possibly some ideas to save a little money??
Hmmm lets see. First you must start putting a budget together. My wedding is going to end up costing about 7000 by the time we are all finished up with everything. We did a lot of things that cut cost. I would start by deciding what time of day you would like the wedding. Morning, afternoon, or night.
Next, start looking for a venue…the venue that I ended up choosing had a lot of things that come with the package, things like this will help you out a lot.
Next, I would start looking for the perfect dress. I started out at david’s bridal but I knew that they weren’t going to have anything that would work for my body type..I went to a few tiny shops around town and I found the most beautiful casablanca dress.
Then, I started working on my color scheme, I know a lot of people are really sick of chocolate brown but I went with it..because I love it and always have. I also just want to make a side note…don’t worry about what everyone else says about your colors, your decisions on anything really because nothing is traditional anymore in the world of weddings! My other colors were pool blue and gold.
Then, I would start working on reception ideas, I did a lot of searching on the internet to find cool centerpieces.
Next, I worked on my floral arrangments, My sister and I made them this will save you money!! I spent about 60 dollars on supplies and the silk flowers, they will last forever and I got the best colors to match my color scheme.
Then we worked on the bridesmaids dresses!! Which was fun and we ended up with this beautiful dress for all three of my bridesmaids…we did get these dresses and their shoes from david’s bridal they look gorgeous and I can’t wait to see them wearing them on the wedding day. Another sidenote, I paid for my bridesmaids shoes for the wedding but they bought their own dresses…I also put together a collection of gifts for my bridesmaids including their jewelry, and little trinkets and things to remember the day.
Hmmm, there is so much more but if you really need more help feel free to contact me, through here, and I can try and help you with anything that you need help with! Good luck!!! Have fun!!!
